CONSERVATORY OF death
From an Interview with Justin Bienvenue at Book Blogs. 9.19.14.
"What can you tell us about your published novels?" I’m glad you asked that. [Kirton lights a cigarette, a Lucky Strike.] I only have one published novel, Conservatory of Death. It’s a grim, gory meditation on death in all its forms. It follows a brother and sister who are both obsessed with death because of their warped childhoods. They both handle the death obsession in different ways. The brother makes real-death videotapes – he exploits death, while his sister works as a palliative-care nurse, helping the terminally ill. There’s also murder, suicide, abortion, disease, sex, hallucinations, and snuff films. It’s good wholesome fun for the entire family! [Kirton laughs bitterly and takes a sip of Wild Turkey.] Anyway, that’s the novel. |
